Vacation Car Free in 2003 with New Package Offer

Santa Barbara, California—The Santa Barbara Car Free Project is pleased to announce a NEW 2003 Vacation Package offer with discounts from 16 hotels and 11 activities to encourage visitors to "take a vacation from your car" in Santa Barbara.

"Arrive by train, plane, bike, boat or bus—or by auto and leave it parked awhile—and enjoy America’s Riviera™ car free and carefree," urges Mary Byrd, Project Manager with the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (APCD), the lead agency for the cooperative partnership. The project goal is to encourage car free transportation to, and around, Santa Barbara, to promote cleaner air. "Our project partners are offering discounts on hotel stays and car free activities to welcome visitors through December 2003," states Byrd.

Visitors just mention the "Santa Barbara Car Free Vacation Package" when making a reservation to receive a 20% discount or more off regular room rates (mostly Sunday-Thursday; all rooms subject to availability; some restrictions apply) at the following hotels: Best Western Pepper Tree Inn, Cabrillo Inn at the Beach, Casa Del Mar Inn, Colonial Beach Inn, Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort, Franciscan Inn, Hotel Oceano, Hotel Santa Barbara, Inn by the Harbor, Inn of the Spanish Garden, Old Yacht Club Inn, Prufrock’s Garden Inn by the Beach, Ramada Limited Hotel, Tropicana Inn & Suites, Upham Hotel and West Beach Inn.
