to be published Notice of Public Review and Request for CommentsRE: P.J. Milligan & Company’s Installation of a New Paint Spray BoothView Notice in Spanish by clicking here: en Español (PDF) P.J. Milligan & Company has applied to the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) for a permit to operate a new paint spray booth at 436-A East Gutierrez Street in Santa Barbara. This facility assembles and finishes new wood furniture. The location of the project is within 1,000 feet of the property boundary of El Puente Community High School. As part of the APCD’s evaluation of this proposed installation, we have used a state-approved computer model to assess the potential health risk created by the project’s emissions. Our modeling analysis, which is conservatively health protective, shows that the expected emissions from this installation will be well below any levels that would create a significant air toxic risk to public health and the environment. Before our agency issues this permit, state law requires that we notify you, since you are either the parent/guardian of a student attending the school or are a resident or business located within 1,000 feet of the site. We are providing you an opportunity to review and comment on this proposed permitting action. Further, prior to issuing the final permit, we will submit to the permit’s administrative file our written responses to any comments we receive during the comment period. A copy of the draft permit document (Authority to Construct 12516) is available for download (PDF file) by clicking here. The draft permit document is also available for review at the following locations: APCD offices Please provide any comments to us within 30 days of the receipt of this notice to: Attn: Paula Iorio, Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District, 260 N. San Antonio Road, Suite A, Santa Barbara CA 93110. Paula Iorio may be reached at 805-961-8867. Sincerely, Terry Dressler Air Pollution Control Officer to be published April 25, 2008
