FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: "Kids Care for Clean Air" Contest AnnouncedPrizes for Pictures Showing Fun Ways to Get Around Without Creating Air PollutionSANTA BARBARA, CA -- Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) and Traffic Solutions today announced a "Kids Care for Clean Air" 2001 calendar poster contest for county kids between the ages of 5 and 12 years. Twelve pictures will be selected to accompany each month, with a thirteenth selected to appear on the cover of the calendar. The pictures will be selected to represent a variety of ideas on the contest theme, "fun ways to get around without creating air pollution," and a range of ages and areas of the county. Submissions will be accepted that are postmarked on or before October 6, 2000, the last day of Santa Barbara County Rideshare Week. The agencies are inviting submissions through county schools and after-school and summer programs. Twelve winners with each receive a $25 savings bond and 25 calendars. The grand prize winner will receive a $50 savings bond, 50 calendars, and a new bike provided courtesy of Velo Pro Cyclery.
