On December 1, 1998, the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) made a decision to approve emission reduction credits (ERCs) for Grefco Minerals, Inc. and Saba Petroleum. ERC amounts are as follows:

Grefco Minerals Saba Petroleum
NOx 23.21 tons per year 9.09 tons per year

Grefco Minerals, Inc. created ERCs with the shut down of its diatomaceous earth processing plant located in Lompoc. Saba Petroleum created ERCs by replacing a compressor engine at its Cat Canyon oilfield with a new unit that uses emission controls for NOx, ROC and CO. The administrative files for these applications are available for review at the APCD, 26 Castilian Drive, B-23, in Goleta. The APCD’s Decision of Issuance may be obtained online at http://www.sbcapcd.org/ or by contacting Michael F.
