Part 70 and APCD Draft Permits to Operate

City of Santa Maria Landfill

The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) has issued a draft federal Part 70 permit to the City of Santa Maria's Municipal Solid Waste Landfill (Landfill) facility. The facility includes a recycling and a hazardous household waste collection program. The Landfill operations consist of a "fill-and-cover method" using onsite soils to provide the required daily cover. The Landfill capacity is estimated to be 346 million cubic feet of waste. Estimated non-methane organic compounds emissions from the facility waste are 85.35 tons/yr.
