“The Proposed Amended Rule 339 is available for review. Please see this page for a copy of the Draft Rule 339. APCD staff discussed this rule revision at the March 12, 2008 and April 23, 2008 Community Advisory Council (CAC) meetings. The CAC recommended the adoption of this revised rule to the APCD Board of Directors. This rule is scheduled to go to the June 19, 2008 Board Hearing.

Rule 333 is under revision to address ARB and EPA concerns on this internal combustion engine rule. Rules 102 (Definitions), 201 (Permits Required) and 202 (Exemptions to Permits) are also under revision. Please see this page for information. APCD staff will discuss the rule revisions and request that the APCD Community Advisory Council (CAC) formulate an APCD Board of Directors recommendation on them during the April 23, 2008 CAC Meeting. This April 23 CAC Meeting is open to the public. Please see this page for more information on the CAC meeting.

This new rule will affect all owners and operators of boilers, steam generators, and process heaters in Santa Barbara County that are rated at greater than 2,000,000 British thermal unit (Btu) per hour to less than 5,000,000 Btu per hour. See draft rule on this page, see public notice on this page. (Rule 361 was adopted in January 2008. )

The APCD Board adopted Rule 213, which establishes the fee for registering any diesel engine subject to Rule 1201. See this page to view the adopted rule.

Rule 1201 will apply to diesel engines used in agricultural operations, specifically to stationary and portable diesel engines rated at 50 brake horsepower or greater. Rule was adopted August 16, see below to download.
