Amendments to Add Solvent
Cleaning Provisions to Four Operation-Specific
Rules: 330, 337, 349, and 353 |

Description |
The District
is working on amendments to the following rules:
1. Rule 330, Surface Coating of Metal
Parts and Products, and Rule 337, Surface Coating of
Aircraft and Aerospace Vehicle Parts and Products;
and
2. Rule 349, Polyester Resin
Operations, and Rule 353, Adhesives and Sealants.
We are proposing amendments to
these rules to add solvent cleaning provisions into
each of the rules. Slight modifications to
Rules 102 (Definitions) and 202 (Exemptions to Rule
201) are also proposed.
On August 10, 2011,
staff conducted a public workshop on the project.
After the workshop, the
Community Advisory Council (CAC) met to consider
recommending that the Board of Directors adopt the
proposed amended rules. Discussions indicated
that the rules contained unclear language and revisions were
suggested. Hence, the CAC continued the item.
In addition, the District received comments
on the project after August 10, 2011. Staff are
currently reviewing and considering all comments and
incorporating changes where appropriate.
