Our Air Quality

In Santa Barbara County, our air is considered in attainment of all the federal air quality standards that apply. Our air does not meet the state standards for ozone or particulate matter less than 10 microns in diameter (PM10). The state standards are more protective of public health. A determination about whether we attain the new federal standard for particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in diameter (PM2.5) will be made once sufficient data are available.
